• inspectors noted the impressive contribution the school makes to developing community cohesion, that pupils are highly aware of their role within a wider context, and that they have exceptional understanding about the differences in beliefs and cultures that exist.
Following guidance from the inspectors the following actions have been taken:
• the school has been accepted by the Local Authority to be part of a ‘moving to outstanding’ initiative that provides additional funding for resources and staff training – to ensure the school meets its potential;
• a maths consultant has accepted Holy Trinity as one of only ten schools in the country to be included on a national project focused on raising attainment in maths. This starts immediately and will ensure additional funding for maths resources, alongside support of training for all staff, and consultant time;
• the headteacher, Penny Cox, has attended Institute of Education training and will now formulate action plans to ensure children are able to respond to marking.
These steps are in place to ensure Holy Trinity will be in the top 5% of most effective schools in the country.

Progress
A vital measure of a school is the the progress each child makes from their year 2 SATs test to their year 6 SATs test. This is now accepted as the best indicator of the effectiveness of the teaching, and of the school. The children at Holy TRinity all made at least the progress expected by the governmnet and many made much more. Only 5 schools in Richmond achieved this. Our latest SATs results for Key Stage 2 (Year 6) are shown below, and compared to the national average and the average for all schools in Richmond borough. The scores show the number of pupils achieving level 4 or better, which is the level that pupils are expected to achieve at this age. These results placed us joint equal first on level 4 achievement in the borough of Richmond.
