Leopard class circle timeAn integral part of what we do at Holy Trinity is about keeping ourselves healthy. We take great pride in this area and have been awarded the nationally recognised Healthy Schools Award as a result.
As well as nutritious school meals, all children receive at least one piece of fruit per day (free of charge) and have constant access to fresh, filtered water. We also involve all children in some sort of physical activity every day as well as running a number of after school sports clubs.
Parental involvement in keeping the school healthy is both vital and welcome. As part of our expansion programme, we will have a new and enlarged kitchen which will provide a cook from fresh menu once the kicthen is refurbished and up and running. We have a healthy eating committee which has a majority of parents as members, and this committee has been very influential in guiding the food policy of the school.
We encourage the children to walk ,cycle or scooter to school whenever possible and we hold regular road safety assemblies. Some of our staff cycle to work whilst others walk and share cars. As part of the school's travel plan we show an active interest and success in reducing car use where at all possible. We have plans to increase the amount of cycle storage available at the school as well as reducing the amount of car parking. We are also in dialogue with the local council to try to make crossing the surrounding roads safer. This is just a summary of our travel plan. Please ask at the office for a copy of the school travel plan.
