Our recent Ofsted inspection (March 2010) has recognised the success of the headteacher, Penny Cox and her leadership team, by concluding that the school is ‘good with outstanding features’.  Key highlights are:

•    inspectors praised the ‘exceptional’ care, guidance and support given to the children, and some ‘outstanding’ teaching;
•    Ofsted noted the ‘strong and dedicated leadership of the head teacher and senior leaders’ and how this has resulted in the school’s excellent reputation and parental support;
•    the team of staff were recognised for going to ‘great lengths’ to make learning fun;
•    the children were applauded for their good behaviour, their attendance and how much they enjoy learning and being part of the community; and
•    the school was described as ‘happy’ and ‘highly inclusive’ where children ‘have a tremendous sense of security’.

Following an Ofsted inspection all church schools have a Church School Distinctiveness Inspection (known as a Section 48). This inspection involves looking at the standard of assemblies, the quality of the religious education and the effectiveness of the ethos of the school. The school under took this inspection in the week before Easter 2010 and was awarded the grade of Outstanding – this has moved from a grading of satisfactory three years ago. The Diocese education director writes in her covering letter to the report: "The ‘outstanding’ grade is a wonderful reflection of the commitment of staff and governors to the promotion of the distinctiveness of the school. It is a parallel achievement with the raising of standards generally in Holy Trinity."

In addition:
• our latest SATs contextual value added are significantly above both national and Richmond (the top LEA nationally) averages
• our foundation stage has been recognised as `exemplary' by a senior government adviser.

Our realistic target is to be among the top five per cent of most effective schools in the country.

The school is expanding to become a two-form entry school. This will provide us with brand new buildings and state-of-the-art equipment and resources. See other areas of this website for expansion news and photos detailing progress.

We have strong links with The Old Vicarage independent school in Richmond and Christ’s secondary school, where most of our pupils move to for their secondary education. These links involve the sharing of resources such as the pottery and craft studio, food and science labs, music studio and dedicated music tuition. We also have links with Barcelona University and regularly have Spanish students in the school. We are linked with a school just outside Barcelona called "Floresta".  We are beginning to establish links with Chile too.
